Most of my photos since 2010 look terrible.
My photography follows a similar path. I do use my iPhone 4S more like a point & shoot I stopped using after I got my dSLR in 2007.
But Marco & I differ in where we are in the parenting game. Marco is a new parent and will taking loads of photos of his new son. My boys are now teenagers and rarely allow their photos to be taken.
My photos are for me, part of my daily journal. I post them online in a small format so the quality is not so important to me.
I do still use my dSLR everyday. I take photos of Lego mini figures because I like to play. I also use my dSLR when we go out on our weekly outings.
Furthermore, although I do try to get good, quality photographs from my gear, I am not that concerned if they are not perfect. Recording memories is more important that recording perfect pixels. Maybe I will change my mind when I do upgrade to a retina display (I currently only have iPhone 4S with retina) but I am OK with my photos.
